Privacy policy
Short version: Gestello uses your webcam to see your hand, on your own computer. Your video is never recorded, saved, uploaded or shared, and Gestello does not send any data anywhere.
Your camera
- Gestello turns on your camera only after you agree on its setup screen, and only while Gestello is on.
- Each video frame is read in memory to find your hand, then thrown away.
- Nothing is recorded, saved, uploaded or shared.
- Hand tracking uses a model (Google MediaPipe Hand Landmarker) that is bundled inside the extension. It runs on your computer, works offline and makes no network requests.
What Gestello stores
Gestello saves a few small values in Chrome's local storage on your computer. They never leave it.
- Your settings: laser color, sensitivity, next-slide key, and whether hand swipes are on.
- A record that you agreed to camera use, so you are not asked every time.
- A count of presentations that went well, used once to ask if you'd like to leave a rating.
- While you present, the id of the tab you are presenting (cleared when Chrome closes).
There is no account, no sign-up and no analytics inside the extension.
